  • There is a great new online safety tool designed for parents launched by the Department for Education called Parent Info.  It has advice on everything from keeping children safe from online trolls to WhatsApp - a guide for parents.

  • Childnet is a great website resource for parents and children on online safety.  Click here to watch an interactive video on how to keep your child safer online.

  • Internet Matters is another great site to use - it has advice on cyberbullying, how to talk to your children about internet safety and quick guides to different types of social media such as Instagram and Snapchat.  You can visit their pages here Internet Matters.

Support SEND and Therapies:

  • Special Needs Jungle - Offer lots of support and useful links for families.

  • Chatterpack - A  voluntary community project, which offers free support for schools, parents and children with SEND. They have a wide range of  Speech, language and communication resources including free websites, a monthly newsletter and lots of resources to support a wide range of Special Educational Needs.

  • Family Action - Family Action SEND services, provide expert, impartial legal advice, practical guidance and emotional support to help children and families navigate the health, social care and education systems and feel empowered to get the help they need.

Local Authorities 

The first port of call for parents/carers of learners with special needs is your Local Authority. Every Local Authority is legally obliged to provide local support (including health, education and social care) for children and young people with SEND.
