Online Safety

Wilds Lodge School adopts a proactive approach when it comes to promoting eSafety. Every learner completes an e-Safety module in their ICT lessons and will have a further eSafety input in PSHE lessons and assemblies during Internet Safety Week. We also have a number of eSafety posters up in the ICT room that provide helpful advice to learners. Support from the Care Team also promotes these messages in the evening.

Learners are encouraged to come forward if they see anything on the internet that is suspicious, if they are a victim of cyberbullying or if they have a question about using the internet. Within school, all internet usage is filtered and monitored in accordance with relevant safeguarding policies.

The Internet has become an integral part of children's lives, enabling them to undertake research for school projects, talk to their friends and access information from around the world. Increasing access to the internet in and out of school brings with it the need to ensure that all children are equipped with the knowledge and skills to stay safe online. At Wilds Lodge, we are committed to teaching our learners how to navigate the digital world responsibly. We work in partnership with parents and carers to promote online safety and ensure that our children use the internet in a positive, respectful and secure way.
